Our story

Founded by therapeutic foster parents

FarmCharm was started by faith-driven, therapeutic foster parents who held BRS-level placements through some of the hardest years a child can live through. We learned, the way you only can in that house, that healing does not happen in a hurry.

What healed our children was not another office. It was the goats waiting at the gate. The chicken that perched on the lap, not the roost. The alpaca who would only let one particular child brush her shoulder. We built a farm so other families could be met by that same patient herd.

What is a care farm?

What is a care farm?

A care farm is the deliberate use of farm animals, gardens, and the rhythm of rural life as a therapeutic environment.

At FarmCharm, every fence line, feed bucket, and morning routine has been designed in collaboration with trauma-informed and seasoned therapeutic foster parents. The work is gentle. The outcomes are not small.
